Getting to call yourself a local in Whistler is one of the luckiest things someone can get the chance to enjoy.  Living in Whistler and enjoying all of the beautiful scenery, fantastic food, and wonderful activities allows you to have fun outdoors year-round.

If you’re curious about what lifestyle perks come with buying real estate for sale in Whistler , these are the top things to know about this mountain-top city.

What Do The Locals Do in Whistler?

Enjoy the Mountaintop Scandinavian Spa

The Scandinavian spas in Whistler are amazingly scenic, with gorgeous views and deliciously warm natural springs that can melt away all of your worries and frustrations.  These spas are open year-round and can be especially soothing and fun after a long day at work or working out on the slopes.

Although you shouldn’t stay in the water long, you can enjoy the other perks of the spa-like massages, facials, and treatments to clear your skin and wash away your stress.

What Do The Locals Do in Whistler?

Try Cross-Country Skiing At Lost Lake

Cross-country skiing is a fantastic outlet for anyone looking to enjoy the fun of skiing without having to plummet down the side of a mountain.  Instead, cross country skiing lets you enjoy the trails and walks available during the summer except on skis instead so that you stay above the snow and slush.

Locals enjoy this because there’s less of a rush from tourists to get to this, and they get to go to the same areas they want year-round.

Enjoy Bobsledding For A Change

Bobsledding is an underrated but thrilling sport that gives you the chance to reach high speeds while sliding down the sides of a mountain.  This attraction is open year-round, and although you won’t get the rates that Olympic athletes do (reaching up to 90 miles per hour!), you can still enjoy high speed and lots of fun.

Take In The Beautiful Year-Round Views

Every inch of Whistler is beautiful all the time.  Whether you like to see the green poking out of the ice when spring is there: or how luscious and lively the mountains are in the summer, locals get to take in these surroundings year-round.  In autumn, when the leaves turn oranges and reds, and in the winter, when everything is covered in a thick layer of snow, it’s all beautiful.

As locals, they understand that a little bit of slush comes with the territory of heavy traffic from tourists, but they don’t hate this!

What Do The Locals Do in Whistler?

Go Ice Skating and Swimming On The Same Lakes

In the summer, when all of the ice is gone, the waters remain semi-glacial, and the perfect location to swim and fish and cool off. Then, in the winter, when the cold returns, many of these lakes freeze over, allowing ample space to skate to your heart’s delight.  This is fantastic for families with kids who want to get away from everything and will enable you to keep active without having to ski or snowboard every day of the winter!

Whistler is an amazing area, and if you fall in love with it: you’re not alone!

150 Things To Do In Canada

I'm pleased to announce my first ebook is available on Amazon Kindle. In honour of Canada's 150th Anniversary, I wanted to highlight my favourite things to do in each province and territory across Canada.

This ebook is super affordable as this is my first attempt at an ebook, and I'm hoping it will encourage people to flip through it before their summer travels across Canada. Please leave a positive review if you find it useful! I'm pulling late nights at the moment working on another ebook which is set to release before summer. Stay tuned!
