I mentioned in a previous post that I Backpack Canada was up for a Saskatchewan Tourism Award of Excellence. This would be the 2nd formal tourism award my little blog had been nominated for, and I was hoping to start off the year with a winning streak. I wasn’t able to attend, but it turns out I got my butt kicked. Congrats goes out to the winners. Its refreshing to hear there are other people out there trying their best to get word out that saskatchewan doesn’t suck . Boardwalk in Halifax on Harbour If you’d like to see the winners of this years Saskatchewan Tourism awards head over to their pdf release . Bad news aside, I finally booked my ticket & have confirmed that I am officially sneaking off from my heavy school & work schedule to attend TBEX 2011. If you didn’t know, I won an award through the Canadian Tourism Commission last year at their GoMedia2010 Event held in Toronto. As winner for the award, they’re sending me out to TBEX to become a better blogger. Something I’ve been telling myself to become for the last year or so. I’ll be arriving Friday, June 10th, and will be squeezing some much anticipated travel through BC & Alberta in that week. If you’re going to be at TBEX and want to meet up for a beer & a chat, be sure to contact me via the twitters. You should be able to find me @ibackpackcanada . In the meantime, if your bored & want to really creep through my life (and really, who wouldn’t…ha!), come follow my tumblog . I’m officially addicted to instagram, so expect heavy amounts of photos! I’ll keep updating my tumblog during TBEX 2011 and whatever other adventures I find myself in during my visit to the West Coast of Canada! Wish me luck!

150 Things To Do In Canada

I'm pleased to announce my first ebook is available on Amazon Kindle. In honour of Canada's 150th Anniversary, I wanted to highlight my favourite things to do in each province and territory across Canada.

This ebook is super affordable as this is my first attempt at an ebook, and I'm hoping it will encourage people to flip through it before their summer travels across Canada. Please leave a positive review if you find it useful! I'm pulling late nights at the moment working on another ebook which is set to release before summer. Stay tuned!
