With the trend favouring Trump to win in the primary for the GOP, many Americans are setting their sights further north to live in a more liberal, often times more cold country. My personal opinions aside, if Trump wins the nomination and presidential election, immigration to Canada is likely going to see a spike. While many right wingers said the same thing about Obama winning the election, I think the divisiveness of Trumps campaign may mean more Americans decide to follow through and move to Canada. Become a Canadian by Marrying a Canadian
Just like the US, Canada allows for married couples apply for citizenship. While it can be an arduous and slow process here in Canada, it is possible. If you’ve married a Canadian and have been married for at least one year, your significant other can sponsor you and aide you in living your new life as a citizen of Canada. This option does not require any minimum income; however, being gainfully employed will help your situation, as will passing a criminal, security, and medical exam. Move to Canada for School
Canadian universities, colleges, and technical institutes accept countless students from America. While each province has its own unique investor program, most require a net worth of at least a 1.8 million dollars, relevant business experience, and an agreement to invest a $800,000 into Canada. 
Move to Canada by being an Entrepreneur
Those who’ve caught the entrepreneurial bug and have already started a successful business will be pleased to hear that they may be able to move to Canada using their skills. CIC requires applicants to have relevant experience, including:
- taken part in cultural activities or athletics at a world-class level,
- been self-employed in cultural activities or athletics, or
- experience in managing a farm.
CIC will assess you on experience, education, age, language abilities, and adaptability. The standard medical, security, and criminal check will also have to be done. You’ll have to prove that you’re a valuable asset to the Canadian economy.
