I recently spent some time looking for a jacket that I could wear when I was out in the mountains and exploring the countryside. I knew that I needed something that would work well in the elements while also being comfortable and extremely durable. Fortunately the folks at Altitude Sports wanted me to take one of the products for a review. They recommended I try the Odin 9 Worlds Jacket which seemed to fit all of my needs and then some. Water Proof & Wind Proof Jacket

The Odin 9 Worlds Jacket has a Helly Tech Professional 3 Ply Shell which has enhanced Flow membrane technology. A Durable Water Repellency treatment has also been applied to the Odin 9 Worlds Jacket. These features allow the jacket to be waterproof, windproof, and breathable, which is perfect for those windy and rainy days when I am out hiking a mountain or two.

Jacket Features

There are a few other features that I really love about this jacket as well. The zippers on the jacket are YKK Aquaguards, which means that I never have to worry about water getting through the zippers to the inside of this jacket or the inside of any of the multiple pockets. The chest pockets and hand pockets offer plenty of dry storage for those shorter walks in the woods. The jacket has full mechanical stretch construction and it moves with you instead of being pulled and tugged along. There is an elastic adjustment on the bottom hem and the RECCO reflector comes included. I had no idea what a RECCO reflector was. This is a unique reflector which sends an electronic signal which is detected by a rescuer who is using the RECCO R9 detector. This system is used within ski resorts and search and rescue teams along with a beacon. It’s the kind of technology that can save your life. While I tend to avoid snowboarding in high risk avalanche zones, it’s a nifty feature. A Backpacker Friendly Jacket

I was concerned about being able to use my packs and harnesses with this jacket, but I have found that the jacket has been designed to be used with any type of gear. This reason was probably the biggest selling point to me. Comfort while on long hikes or on the slopes is key for an enjoyable day out. The folks over at Altitude Sports  were 100% right, the Odin 9 Worlds Jacket is an incredible jacket that would be perfect for backpacker,s hikers, or mountain enthusiasts. It’s clear that they know their gear. If you’re looking for expert advice, head over to their website and browse their catalogue of products. While I have only worn my Odin 9 Worlds Jacket a couple of times so far, I am really looking forward to using it more as I have a few longer hikes planned in the next month or two. It’s still a bit on the cold side to be wearing it often, but with Spring around the corner I’m sure this new addition to my backpack is going to be a great one! Special Thanks to Altitude Sports The folks at Altitude Sports provided this jacket for my review, all opinions and thoughts are my own. But I would strongly urge you to try this jacket on or order your own online. It’s super comfortable and a hikers dream come true.

150 Things To Do In Canada

I'm pleased to announce my first ebook is available on Amazon Kindle. In honour of Canada's 150th Anniversary, I wanted to highlight my favourite things to do in each province and territory across Canada.

This ebook is super affordable as this is my first attempt at an ebook, and I'm hoping it will encourage people to flip through it before their summer travels across Canada. Please leave a positive review if you find it useful! I'm pulling late nights at the moment working on another ebook which is set to release before summer. Stay tuned!
