Visitors to the Canadian province of British Columbia will be more than aware of its immense natural beauty. It’s hard to miss. But in the off chance that you should tire of the province’s beautiful coastline and dramatic mountain ranges, then fear not, as British Columbia is packed with plenty of fantastic entertainment hotspots too. Unsurprisingly, much of the action centres on Vancouver which has cultivated a great reputation thanks to its vibrant music scene and its fun-loving nightlife. The Legendary Commodore Ballroom

The legendary Commodore Ballroom venue in Vancouver has been in operation for nearly 90 years, and it’s glamorous art deco architecture has hosted musical legends like Nirvana, The Beastie Boys and Lady Gaga. And music venues like The Cobalt are great places to check out some of the rising stars of Vancouver’s alternative music scene like White Lung and Japandroids. Vancouver’s fun-loving nightlife isn’t restricted to music of course. Going out on pretty much any night of the week in the city will always uncover plenty of fun, particularly if you head to the boisterous bars and nightclubs of Granville Entertainment District where the party never stops until very late! Gamers Galore

The city has also earned a great reputation as being something of a video gamer’s paradise with the likes of Electronic Arts, Capcom and Rockstar all having offices here, perhaps this is why there are so many retro video gaming arcades popping up across the fun-loving city! And there are plenty of more mature gaming attractions in Vancouver too with the table games and slot machines at the Hard Rock Casino out in Coquitlam continuing to attract many gamers. However, with online brands like Lucky Nugget Casino offering an easier and closer alternative, it seems that we can also use our smartphones to play these classic games whilst in the heart of the city. Visit Victoria

Of course, there’s more to British Columbia than Vancouver. Victoria is the pretty capital of the province, and it has a relaxed charm that’s best appreciated whilst sampling some of the exquisite craft beers whilst in the city’s atmospheric bars. And a quick walk around the downtown area reveals a pleasing variety of nightclubs, theatres, pubs, as well as music venues that has given local heroes like Nelly Furtado, Hot Hot Heat and Wolf Parade a chance to shine. So regardless of whether you’re looking for cutting-edge music or top class casino games, it seems that British Columbia has plenty to offer!

150 Things To Do In Canada

I'm pleased to announce my first ebook is available on Amazon Kindle. In honour of Canada's 150th Anniversary, I wanted to highlight my favourite things to do in each province and territory across Canada.

This ebook is super affordable as this is my first attempt at an ebook, and I'm hoping it will encourage people to flip through it before their summer travels across Canada. Please leave a positive review if you find it useful! I'm pulling late nights at the moment working on another ebook which is set to release before summer. Stay tuned!
