Budget friendly ski resorts aren’t always easy to come by. While there are quite a few wonderful discounted resorts to ski around the world, many people do not realize that some of the best, and cheapest, ski resorts can be found in Alberta, Canada . In an effort to save you some money on winter activities , I’ve compiled my findings of what I feel our the best budget friendly ski resorts in Alberta. Let’s get to work!

Castle Mountain Ski Resort
Adult full day lift ticket is $74 Castle Mountain was purchased and opened in 1996 by people who love to ski and they wanted to share their love of skiing with others. There are more than seventy-nine trails that people can ski down here. The three terrain parks at Castle Mountain has been designed for more advanced skiers, however beginners are encouraged to give it a try as well. There is much more that people can do besides skiing and many visitors will find themselves snow shoeing and participating in CAT skiing. When people go CAT skiing, they get to ride the powder stagecoach and spend an entire day riding open bowls and secret powder stashes amongst beautiful scenery high up in the mountains. 
Sunshine Village Ski Resort
Adult full day lift ticket is $88 Twelve lifts take skiers up to one hundred and fifteen ski runs on the mountains of Sunshine Village. Half of the ski runs are for intermediate skiers, while a quarter of them are for beginners and another quarter are for the experts. Sunshine Village also has a terrain park that covers over fifteen acres. Everyone can also snow shoe while they are staying at this resort. Sunshine Village can be very budget friendly if you’re staying in one of the local hostels in Banff
. Look for the Big 3 ski pass for access to multiple mountains at affordable rates. 
Nakiska Ski Resort
Adult full day lift ticket is $76.95 Nakiska Ski Resort has seventy-nine trails that are marked and approximately half of them are for intermediate skiers. However, the other half are split between trails for beginners and experts. Families will love that they can also go snowboarding and tubing while spending time at this ski resort. Nakiska is a quick drive up from Calgary, so take advantage of budget friendly hotels in Calgary and drive up in the morning. You’ll save enough for at least a couple après-ski beers. is incredibly scenic. Nothing beats driving from rolling prairies into the rocky mountains.

All of these ski resorts have plenty of snow from December until April (though some earlier and some later), whether from mother nature or them making high quality fantastic powdered snow.
