I just saw this movie this year and I LOVED it! It really does shine a great light on Canada in a non-cheesy way. I told Dylan (of The Traveling Editor) to watch it for inspiration on his Grand Canadian Hitchhike.

@Jo – I think you’re right! I just searched through blockbuster.com.au and couldn’t find it at all. That’s too bad, it’s a good movie. Maybe next time you’re in Canada you can rent it.

I don’t think that movie was released here in Australia. It’s not available in any of our DVD suppliers. This is mighty depressing.

Thanks for the tip, enjoyed the movie very much. Nice to hear “un canadien errant” – I had read of the song but never heard the melody before. Hmm, just a few more weeks before I’ll fly to that side of the ocean..

@Dave & Deb – Yea it’s always a little more exotic heading to places a little further than your backyard. I too am planning another big RTW travel, but for now I have Canada to explore. We have so much to see, but with the huge distances between the many places, it can sometimes be discouraging. Hopefully the Canadian Tourism Higher Ups find a way to showcase our country in the light it deserves and find a way to put the infrastructure to allow cheaper travel. Thanks for reading guys!

I agree 100%. I haven’t travelled enough of Canada. And after seeing One Week, it made me want to do a cross country road trip very soon. Too bad we are planning a cross Asia trip first, but upon our return, I think that it will be the first thing on our list.
